Quattro saxofoniste e una pianista si incontrano in un progetto unico nel suo genere che rende omaggio al compositore George Gershwin, proponendo un programma accattivante arricchito da un tocco di eleganza, freschezza e femminilità.
Le molteplici possibilità timbriche, dinamiche ed espressive dell’ensemble permettono inoltre un’originale lettura della musica classica del Novecento, di repertori al confine con il jazz, delle calde sonorità del tango argentino e della musica europea d’ispirazione popolare.

The Gershwin Quintet is an italian female ensemble composed of a saxophone quartet (soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones) and piano and it is in a class by itself.
This instrumental composition offers a variety of tone, dynamic and expressive possibilities and this lets the quintet play orchestral arrangements. As it is clear by the name of the quintet, the group showed high interest in the American Composer George Gershwin, playing the famous “Rhapsody in Blue” and other of his masterpieces. The programme includes also other beguiling atmospheres which convey to the public the warmth of the Argentinean Tango and Greek dances.
